I wanted to create a song that pertained to all beauty. “Sexy comes in any color, shape or size as long as YOU know that YOU are fine” So in the video i made sure i got just that. Light skinned, Dark skinned, white, Asian, Hispanic, Gay, Plus size, Skinny, Tall, short etc.. Every on set had an awesome vibe and it all showed in this video. You know I don’t think I have a “dream” anymore…

Growing up, anything that I wanted to do or accomplish in the future was always laughed at or not taken seriously by family nad friends because it was THEY thought I should be doing.  So much so, that I started to think that nothing I do will ever be good enough…so I stopped dreaming.  Even now, those same family members and friends continue to discourage the aspirations I have.

Here I am, on the verge of turning 30 and I have people around me who encourage the natural ME (finally) but I feel stuck and without direction.  It seems like every one around me is working towards or living a dream, THEIR dream.

I mean, I’ve been defeated for so long…why try anymore?

It just been busy the last few months…it seems like EVERYONE needs me for something these days.  It’s almost dizzying. But in some weird way, it feels good to be needed…

Anyhoo…I’ve been missing blogging…I can’t promise a post a day, but it will be more than one post every quarter. :-/

I’ve been SO busy recently, I know what you’re thinking – “Lboog stays busy!”  And yes that’s true, but when I slow down, I’m bored and trying to find something to do! LOL

2) if someone tells you I said something, but it sounds so unlike something I would say, come back to me to see if it was ACTUALLY said by me…this played a major part in why I didn’t speak to a friend of mine for over 3 years;

3) don’t form an opinion about a person until you meet and get to know them…I’ll admit judging someone years ago without even knowing anything about her, but in a random twist this weekend I hung out with her and she’s cool as hell!;

4) If you’re a good person, lies said by others won’t matter because you track record will speak for itself…the few people who hate me do so because they are jealous of me (not being conceited, it’s just been proven) and if I didn’t keep it 100 all the time, I could’ve easily lost some great people in my corner;

5) I have some really GREAT people in my circle right now;

6) it’s NEVER too early to start thinking about my birthday…sure my birthday isn’t until the end of September, but it’s my 30th and I plan to celebrate BIG! I’ve come up with THE theme! I’m so excited about it;

7) I having a BLAST on this rollercoaster called life! Seriously the last 2 months have been the most fun! And the rest of the year is starting to shape up rather nicely!

After this year, I can honestly say that I have a number of REAL friends. There are people who genuinely care about my well-being, want the best for me and, when I mess up, have no problem calling me out on my BS.

Growing up as an only child, friends were more to me than just “friends”. I have always treated my friends like family. Because of the attachment, it hurt me to my core when the friendship ended, for whatever reason. (And secretly still does to this day.)

I have friends who know when something’s not quite right, even if I say everything is all good. I have friends who trust me with their most important secrets, with no fear of judgment from me. I have friends who I’ve known FOREVER. I have friends who I haven’t known for much more than a year, but the ups and downs in our lives have paralleled each other. I have friends who I can have entire conversations with and no words or spoken. I have friends who I let go of in the past, but have welcomed back into my life after we both did some growing up. I have friends who I met on the innanets and have now crossed over into my reality, simply because they are the same genuine people both online and in real life. I have friends who call just to say hello.

Most importantly, I have friends who love me and accept me for who I am…flaws and all.

Thank you to my all REAL friends, I don’t think you will ever know how much joy and happyness you’ve added to my life. Without you, my life wouldn’t be as much fun. I love you guys…until next time!

January, I witnessed HISTORY and felt more pride than I ever thought I would. I walked farther than I ever have in the cold, but I did it with approximately 1.2 million people. I learned that I was just like people I only knew for a month.

February, you brought a new outlook on life. Sure, I pulled away from people publicly, but I was always there for those who needed me most, privately.

March was filled with surprise – from my big brother’s birthday party to finding out my dad was sick.

Dear April, you nearly broke me. I wasn’t prepared for my dad to get so sick, so quickly. And none of us were prepared for him to die. It hurt me to my core…especially because I wasn’t there at the end. But I’m SO grateful to my Inner Circle who came to my rescue…I don’t know if they’ll ever know how much that meant to me.

May was life-changing. Yes, we said our goodbyes to dad. But we said hello to a closeness that dad would’ve been proud of. B and L – I’m blessed to have you take the time to be there at my dad’s funeral. It was totally unexpected. I thank you, and so does my family.

June, you brought new beginnings. The weekend in Delaware for my brother’s wedding was much needed for ALL of us.

In July, one of my favorite couples got married and I was so honored to be invited to the wedding. It was small and intimate but everyone there was important in their lives.

August was bittersweet. My first trip to Martha’s Vineyard was wonderful but one thing was missing…dad. As happy as it was, it was sad when we had to go to his favorite spot on the Vineyard and spread his ashes. I thank my stepmom , brothers & sister-in-law for sharing all of the happy times they had with dad in years prior.

September is ALWAYS my favorite month – birthday time! This year did not disappoint! There were 20+ people at my DC birthday brunch, and then to come back to ATL and have 20 people make a trek to Alpharetta for little old me. I’m STILL in awe. I genuinely had a blast…and lost my voice as proof!

October brought the warm & fuzzies. I love “coming home” to my Panthers. Parties, delegating, familiar faces and plenty of laughter…there’s not greater feeling. And to cap the weekend off with Maxwell? It was almost an overload…almost!

I’m thankful for November. I’m thankful for my family, friends, my blessing. I’m blessed to have the opportunity to give back. I’m thankful for my Dolls. I’m thankful for getting together with friends over a good meal or two, even if it does take a year of coordinating! (Coop & B lol) I’m thankful for all of the memorable experiences that I’ve had that make me who I am.

What a whirlwind of fun you were, dear December! My social calendar was PACKED! And I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Doll deliveries, holiday parties, Holiday Bowling, time with family, quality time with my god children, meeting my DC Dolls and movie night with my oldest friend. I couldn’t have asked for a better end to a one-of-a-kind year!

Thank you 2009! You were great, but I know 2010 is going to be AMAZING! Trips, milestones, fun and lots of memories…I can’t wait to see how things pan out!
